Hillberry, who co-authored a Purdue study on the wind industry in Indiana, said land-based wind farms provide stable high-paying jobs. White County has the ability to generate 702 megawatts of wind energy with another 203 megawatts under construction. White County, and neighbor, Benton County, are part of Indiana’s wind belt helping the state rank twelfth in the nation in wind power production.
